I’ve worked in the garden for a long time, I’m an organic gardener.

There’s a lot of work in the garden. In the winter, we work with wood in the garden, sawing it and stacking it to get ready for next year. We deliver the old wood first for burning, not the new wood. We use old wood first because it’s seasoned. We put the new wood we saw behind the tea room in stacks so it’s seasoned for next year. There’s also wood stacked along the drive. I like delivering the wood and sawing.

In the spring it’s wet in the garden. We sow seeds and do the planting, and get the weeds out. We work with wood in the spring too. Things start growing in the garden in the springtime. It’s a very busy time in the garden.

In the summer, we start to harvest, and we thin out plants like chard. We get out the old chard first. Today I’m weeding. The rain is falling right now, and it smells good and fresh.  I like the smells of the garden like rain and the flowers. 

In the autumn, we harvest flowers. We share them with the houses for free. I like delivering flowers. My favourite smell in the garden is the flowers. I don’t have a favourite flower in the garden, I like all of the flowers. 

I enjoy everything in the garden. It’s a lot of hard work!
